BECOME SWASH® CERTIFIED
For patients with spastic cerebral palsy, excessive hip adductor tone results in a variety of clinical problems including poor sitting and standing stability and in time, hip subluxation. This course will review patient selection and fitting of SWASH® – the Sitting Walking and Standing Hip orthosis for management of sitting instability and/or scissoring gait. A computer generated model will demonstrate the mechanical function of the SWASH® orthosis. Learning outcomes include understanding of the physiological, psychological, and functional impact of improved posture and hip stability.
